I think Kasabian like to have a mellow finish to their albums.
This is one of the songs that I've not heard live that I want to. The song has a kind of sad complacent sound to it yet makes you happy at the same time.
Probably my favourite vocals by Serge. Songs like this make me think an acoustic gig by him with just a guitar would be great.

sad complacent sound to it yet makes you happy at the same time. Good call. It's got this sleepy feeling. It was the Sky Arts performance that made me want to hear it a bit more. There are certain sharper aspects to the melody that makes it an earworm. I love that it was around since 2000 or so. Munich and Nottingham were lucky to get it in 2011.

I think it would work well before Goodbye Kiss.

Everyone thinks it's sad, I never really understand why, it's a really uplifting song. In the West Ryder commentary Tom says it's sad as well, and literally five seconds later Serge is going on about how euphoric it is and there is a moment where he kind of laughs when he realises.
It's my favourite, although I feel weird calling it my favourite because a) it's kind of in its own category, it just means everything to me, it's not just "I like this song best" it's really important in ways I can't explain, and b) it's not very representative of what their music is like in general, I don't think it's the best song they have recorded, sometimes it doesn't even come to mind when someone asks me about my favourite, it's just there, it came and found me and I don't get an opinion.
Then there's this, which comes with a slightly magical backstory and is at least my third favourite thing that ever happened to me:
Tim plays on it, by the way.

The band have so many great songs that picking a favourite song can be difficult. It can depend on mood too. Sometimes you don't listen to a song for a while then you listen to it again and are like 'wow'.
