Again, couldn't find a thread already out there on this band, so decided just to go and get one set yup. It was completely down to Kasabian that I discovered Tame Impala in the first place- half full glass of wine was playing in the background of one of the UK 2011 tour videos, and it just grew from there.

I got in to them cause Serge mentioned them.
First song I heard was Sundown Syndrome and I was instantly hooked.
I bought Innerspeaker when I was on holiday in Australia from JB Hifi which was cool as JB is my initials.
Elephant is my favourite track.

After listening to a couple of their songs back in 2012, I bought some tickets for their brixton gig. Arrived late, but got into the o2 priority queue and managed to get a spot on the barrier right in the middle, in front of Kevin. Even though I only knew about four songs, it was a wonderful gig, and everything snowballed from there.

Yes, not as much as Tame Impala, but I really enjoyed Hobo Rocket.

This is from NME's 100 most influencial artists' list. I can't say I agree that Kasabian are that influenced by them, but thought people might find it interesting.

That's rubbish. Even Serge finally admitted recently that Tame Impala are the opposite of progressive, and Kasabian have never sounded even a little bit like them. Apparently journalists can't grasp the difference between "we like this band" and "we're majorly inspired/influenced by this band and want to sound exactly like them"

The timing doesn't match as well. Lonerism was out in 2012, it could never have influenced Velociraptor! anyway. It is not the first time NME talks gibberish, looks like they are losing it...

Found out today they're playing Barrowland in Glasgow later this year so hopefully I can get tickets.

I stupidly never got tickets for their Glasgow gig and now it's sold out. Will possibly go on night and try and get a ticket as they're one band I'd pay over the odds to see.

New album comes out the day before I go on holiday. I'd imagine it will be one of my albums of the holiday. Will sound even better in the sunshine of Marrakech.
