Well, this being for me, the biggest album release of 2014, makes me want to talk more about it. I find it always cool to guess what the album will be called. Trial By Stones? Nah, just a thing to forget. I think the album will be named 'Psycheground' (or atleast have a song titled that) The reason being that there was an Italian band by the name of The Psycheground Group, who only released one album with their songs having one word titles. (Ray, Traffic, Tube, etc.) And if anyone has seem the video 'Road Kill ' on Kasabian's YouTube channel, you will see an image with a reference to Psycheground. So let's wait and watch. P.S.- Too excited for single releasing in the next few weeks.

Something that crossed my mind was that album might be called 'Explodes' because Serge said that the album is going to be launched in some special way. But then again he said it's secret and they've disclosed that there is a track called that.

Explodes is also a good choice. I've been reading about 'U-Boat' recently, as it seems the only connection Kasabian have with Germany in their songs. 100 years ago, the test model of a U-Boat sank (1914). So can't say.

I think I was saying that if the title is the same as one of the track names we know so far, the only one I could imagine is Explodes, the other ones don't really sound like album titles. But since he specifically said that it's still a secret I think it's unlikely that it's something they have already mentioned. Buuuut you never know, we'll just have to wait.

By the looks of it the album will be called 48:13 (I guessed right, ahem) because it showed up on a Japanese website with that title. Nothing has been officially announced so far, but there are only two pink titles left, so we might get something more specific in a few days. ETA: It's also on German Amazon, looks pretty legit.

Naming the album 48:13 makes no sense in itself. They said it's art and stuff. Imagine Pablo Picasso naming scream as '1252'. Sounds awkward.

German site as wel? Ahh, I can't believe that. So why did Aithor said it had something to do with malted milk?

Sorry for posting thrice in a row, but don't you think that's pre-order and that they had to name it something as it has to be listed? And what happened to the special way it was going to be released? That's why the title name was disclosed, right?

Here it is on Amazon France and here on the US version. Aitor never said the album title had anything to do with malted milk, and who said the title would be about art? Imagine Jackson Pollock naming a painting Number 11. Oh wait...

And what happened to the special way it was going to be released? That's why the title name was disclosed, right? It's not available for preorder yet anywhere as far as I can see. I assume the shops just add it to their database at some point as we get closer to the release date, and that's why they show up. The original quote about the special thing was "the title is still a secret because of the way we're gonna launch it." Maybe everyone read too much into it, that it would be some kind of grand revelation, but in hindsight it might have been the wall. Because now that's out there, and all they can do is say oh by the way remember that wall? That was the title. Which is a bit anticlimactic. My theory is that the whole campaign was supposed to be intentionally vague, with them just putting random words and things out there to make people speculate, and in the end it would all make sense.

I agree with highroyds, i think that the wall was how they announced it and basically people had to guess. It's probably lots of clues here and there, like stevie and maybe some were intentionally misleading, like malted milk. god knows what is it. maybe there is a malted milk pic on the cover. Can i also declare my complete indifference to the album title - there are lots of strong feelings about it it seems - because it's just a title after all and it's their album and they can call it what they want. I do like 48:13, i think it's sort of cool, but they could have called it a beetroot and i'd still like it. it's the songs and the gigs that i want.

I also share your opinion, the title is not so important. The contents is what matters. After all everybody gets used to titles, and after a while they sound just "natural". For example, Pink Floyd doesn't make any sense as a band name, it is like calling a new band "Dylan Springsteen" or "Reed Lavelle" or something. But now you cannot imagine any other name than Pink Floyd for that particular band. So as long as music meets the expectations, the title will kick in, even for people who were a little shocked in the beginning.
