Rocket Fuel is mentioned as a "Prodigy-style banger" in the new Guardian interview and is apparently about some of the things that have been said online. That's going to be interesting.

Author of the article seems to have gotten to listen to the whole album early and was singing the album's praises. Hopefully a good sign of the overall quality

I was just looking for an old tweet and found this. Serge said it's about the online hate they've been getting, but maybe the title or some parts of the song existed before?

They normally play 3 songs - so probably Scriptvre, ALYGATYR and a new one. There’s rumours on Reddit we’ll have a new song soon (track 10 from the album). I still don’t get why we don’t have a tracklist yet!

I'm much more excited for this song now that I've read about the band's self-imposed rules. I'm all for biting lyricism that can be interpreted innocently

I'm sure a lot of the album will be about the band and the situation, just not explicitly. Like Empire. I think the moment lyrics are very specific to the writer's life they're not really relatable anymore.

I'm almost positive "Last Trip (In Flight)" is one of the ones you're referring to but what are the others?

I'm almost positive "Last Trip (In Flight)" is one of the ones you're referring to but what are the others? Throughout the whole album there's this theme of holding on to each other in the face of an uncertain future. I hear it on Seek & Destroy, By My Side, British Legion, sometimes a single line. I don't think they sat down like "let's write a song about our feelings" in any of those cases. They went into the studio one member short and with only a third of the album written, they didn't really know what was going to happen with the band after that. People overestimated Karloff's contributions and didn't think Serge could do it alone, just like now. It's a very vulnerable album to me, sort of hidden under layers. I'd love if AE turned out to be a more mature version of that, not in terms of sound, just vibes.

"Rocket Fuel is another one to put alongside old favourites such as Velociraptor! and Vlad the Impaler in the pile of Kasabian songs that are a bit silly really, with its mix of rave synths and chanted vocals, but it’s great fun if you give in to its rowdy nonsense." - Evening Standard
