Well it sounds like Kasabian. It’s not blown me away but I think it will grow on me after more listens.

Well, that's what a disappointment sounds like, honestly. I am frustrated with this song.

It's catchy. Not a massive fan of the distortion.
I wonder how much of what is coming now was written in 2019 or whenever, or if it's all brand new material.

Once again Serge can't help himself but put too much production on a song. Even if it wasn't him directly who produced the song, he still was the one to accept the sound.

Love it. Its different and has a mysterious cool vibe to it. Its modern and I'm really interested to hear more as the band evolves.

Lots to unpack there. Not a massive fan after the first listen but will see in time.
And would be interesting to know if this song was written for Tom, or after.

Oh man, they're back. I'm equally not ready and beyond ready for some new Kasabian!
First Impression: Dig the trippyness but hoping not every song from album 7 sounds like a spazz attack on acid. Also, really wish I could understand the words better. Have to agree it is more overproduced than I would like. I'm guessing Serge is nervous of how the band will be perceived without Tom's vocals, and he's hiding it best he can with all the layers. The lyrics I did catch were vintage Kasabian, which is very encouraging!
Definitely gonna have to give it more spins before I decide whether this is the banger they think it is or not, but they have successfully hyped me for album 7 again, so clearly they still know what they're doing

This track is 100% the banger they think it is.

And would be interesting to know if this song was written for Tom, or after. That was my first thought as well. I think it sounds like Tom was going to sing it. It would have sounded like Ill Ray.

Overproduced and overly distorted for me. It's like Velociraptor x10 in production terms.
On second listen, it also seems so.... erratic. A bit too forgettable for my liking.

Any thoughts on Fraser T. Smith? I've never heard of him. He did something with Adele?

Any thoughts on Fraser T. Smith? I've never heard of him. He did something with Adele? Worked with Dave and Stormzy recently, which might give a bit of an indication of the sound of the album.

It was mixed by Spike Stent. Kind of impressive I'd say.

What do you think, can we expect a record announcement soon? I hope they won't go that road when a band drops a comeback single and then goes back into silence for another 6 months or so. Like Placebo did this year. Despite me considering the song terrible and overproduced and distorted and whatnot, I am still curious what else they've got to offer.

Maybe something else between the end of the tour and the end of the year, another song or an announcement? They have always been kind of unpredictable and not always in a good way, so it's hard to say. I hope we don't have to wait too long.
