this was one of the best gigs ever, genuinely. It was absolutely magical in every possible way, exciting, great setlist, they were loving it so much. Tom was genuinely in tears after the gig, Serge got very emotional before You Got the Love, talking about how they saw DJ Shadow there just after they were signed and was saying this is the best they've been in Brixton. I wish they keep this amazing spark and I think Tom was responsible for most of it, he was like Empire-era Tom - the bouncy, strong, loud frontman, he looked and sounded fantastic. I think we were all just speechless after the gig - it was extra special because this tour has been a bit of a strange one - I think everyone who was there would confirm there was magic in the air - pip , sundaygirl , flipflop , frencheezeh , joshman
Belated reply/report, but I can indeed confirm that it was extra special. They were on top form, and the alterations to the setlist made all the difference. Couldn't believe it when we got Reason Is Treason, Processed Beats AND Stuntman. But not just that, switching the order of the usual songs around freshened up the setlist more than I could have expected. Tom's seemed way more himself the two gigs I've seen this year, I'm really pleased. He was so anxious at the spring 2017 gigs, I was worried for him. Man, the atmosphere was something else, even by Kasabian standards! Way more people queuing than I've seen at Brixton before, even for seats! I didn't get my usual seat, lol, was pushed out a bit further left Sergeside in the balcony this time, and the seats around us mostly filled up really fast. Apart from two next to us in the front row behind the spotlight guy that people avoided cos they thought they'd get a bad view. And then the stewards didn't stop people standing up in the balcony front row and the two guys who'd arrived late and taken those seats couldn't believe their luck, bless 'em. You could actually feel the balcony rocking oftentimes, slightly alarming, just as well I wasn't having a queasy day... So this is it for FCOL tour, this side of the pond anyways, right? I'm LOVED this gig and the RAH earlier this year, but I'm kind of glad the tour's over. It's felt like a blip at times and that they only really got going towards the end of it. So I'm pleased we got our band back in the end, I'll shed a tear or two for all the songs on FCOL and 48:13 that we still haven't heard live, and look forward to what they do next. Over to you, Kasabian.

I'm glad everyone had such a good time, but they really do make an effort only for London gigs, don't they? TCT and Brixton.
I'm a tiny bit annoyed because those were the only gigs I could have potentially attended this year and they were the good ones, but not nearly as much as I expected. Feeling very meh about everything. I hope they take a good long break and return with something amazing.

Ach, I'm sorry that you're feeling meh about everything highroyds The only making an effort for London gigs though - I've seen people say that about Italy too, so I dunno. I'm feeling hopeful that they're back on track, but I do understand the meh. I felt like that after the O2 gig - I kind of enjoyed it but I was also a bit angry tbh, that the setlist was so static, that everything seemed a bit, I dunno, forced? I wish you had made it to at least one of those London gigs, partly because it would have been nice to see you, but also, I think if you'd been there you'd have felt a bit more hopeful. I can see that it doesn't look that amazing on paper, but they just seemed so much more themselves, it gave me hope.

Yeah, they used to play more interesting sets in Italy as well, but not so much this year. They played MoSP, Fairy and brought back Days. I'm sure the gigs were good, I don't want to sit here and judge something that I didn't experience. MoSP and Fairy are two of my favourites, I would have been happy to hear them. But I always worry that they think they're playing really varied sets because they played The Party Never Ends one single time. The major changes are always for their very obvious favourite places or special occasions. There is no correlation between for example Brixton and people who go there being the bigger fans who are more deserving or something, and it's not really fair. Anyway. Whinge. Moving on. At least we have decent recordings of all the interesting bits from TCT and Brixton, I'm really grateful for that.

Hearing You Got the Love made me tearful too, I love that intro so much, and it always reminds me of 2009, and had an amazing moment yesterday, when I mentioned it in the queue and they started soundchecking it right after I said they should play it with LSF, because they were soundchecking Bow smoothly merging into LSF (which was really lovely too to be honest, although I don't like Bow much).
Also I have mentioned it before again, but Processed Beats is so amazing with Tim, that song needed him for 10 years, it's so solid and delicious.
There was indeed magic in the air, cuttoff! We were so lucky they added this date to this weird tour. Reason, Processed Beats, Stuntman, You got the love...everything was incredible... The crowd was crazy, as expected, but it ended well, and we all survived! I have little bits and pieces coming back, like Sergio jumping like a kangaroo everywhere on the stage, Tom hugging Rick at the end, Sergio's emotion... We were all speechless, I still can't talk about it , it'll take time. They gave us soooo much that night.
